1. FREMANTLE PRISON
The Prison is without a doubt Fremantle's most popular tourist attraction. And for good reason! The is WA's only World Heritage listed building and taking a tour is like stepping back in time. The Maritime Museum offers visitors the chance to truly grasp the essence of Fremantles ongoing status as WA's most famous port city. The museum is set right on the shores of the Indian Ocean, housing an array of unique gallery's and exhibitions. Some of the most popular include the Australia II (the winning America's Cup yacht), The Parry Endeavour and The HMAS Ovens, an authentic Cold-War era war vessel. Entrance fees are excellent value for money, making the Maritime Museum a great day out for the whole family.

Opened in 1831, The twelve sided Round House is the oldest public building in Western Australia. It was built just three months after settlement and designed to hold criminals and prisoners. It was closed as a gaol in 1886 and has since served functions such as a Police lock-up, accommodation and storage facility for Fremantle port. Today it is one of Fremantle's most popular attractions. There are a number of volunteers stationed at different points around the building to keep you informed on it's vivid history.
